Aims & Scope

The Journal of Academic Ophthalmology (JAO) is a peer-reviewed, international, open access journal disseminating information relevant to academic ophthalmology and research in ophthalmology education. JAO welcomes submissions focusing on topics related to educators and learners in ophthalmology, as well as unique dilemmas in academic ophthalmology. JAO accepts original research papers, case reports, editorials and letters to the editor. All articles will be made freely and permanently available online through open access publication. Aim
JAO is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to advancing the field of academic ophthalmology. The journal aims to serve as a scholarly platform for the dissemination of original research, innovations, and best practices that enhance ophthalmic education, training, and academic leadership. JAO seeks to contribute to the development of evidence-based approaches in medical education, curriculum design, assessment, and faculty development within ophthalmology.

JAO publishes high-quality manuscripts that focus on the academic dimensions of ophthalmology, including but not limited to:
